A Day in the Life of a Negotiator

Our apprentices

Hear more from some of our past apprentices:
William Burden
William found his niche when he embarked on an apprenticeship with Countrywide. He completed his NFoPP course in six months and was offered a full time role as a trainee Lettings Negotiator. Since then William has worked in several offices, progressing to Negotiator, Senior Negotiator and is now Lettings Manager of our R.A. Bennett branch in Leamington Spa. His advice for school leavers:
“Don’t be fooled by a good starting salary, a career is a much better prospect. Friends of mine went straight into full time work and haven’t progressed since. It was hard work and challenging on a lower wage but it was absolutely worth it - I now manage a team, run my own lettings business and the career opportunities haven’t stopped there.”

Luke Starnes

Luke knew that school wasn't for him and sought out an apprenticeship while in his sixth form. He found out about our negotiator apprenticeship while researching online and applied. It was Luke's persistence that grabbed the attention of our Regional Manager and he started his journey with Countrywide in our Frank Innes branch in Nottingham in January 2013.

This persistence paid off and not long into his apprenticeship Luke was promoted into a Negotiator role. Fast forward three years and Luke landed his first management role in our Frank Innes branch in Derby, and is now Executive Branch Manager of both Leicester and Clarendon Park.

"Working in estate agency is hard work but I took advantage of every opportunity going to learn as much as I could. I’m so pleased I followed the apprenticeship route and would encourage anyone who is interested in this industry to do the same."
